<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pulse wave analyzer for making it possible to obtain maximal and minimal blood pressures by determining generation and disappearance of Korotkoff sound on the basis of pressed pulse waves measured by a strain sensor.SOLUTION: A pulse wave analyzer determines maximal and minimal blood pressures by: detecting a subject's pressed pulse wave by using a strain sensor in decompressing a cuff belt wound around the subject's upper arm after applying air pressure to the cuff belt to predetermined pressure; determining the center position of a single pulse wave from time series data on the detected pressed pulse wave by analyzing a frequency component including Korotkoff sound, by using short time tast Fourier transformation, from the detected pressed pulse wave; extracting energy of a frequency band specific to the Korotkoff sound from each frequency characteristic in the single pulse wave; and detecting generation and disappearance of the Korotkoff sound on the basis of the energy.</p> |
