PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer capable of performing restoration work from paper jam generated on a gap between a print head and a platen, and having less limitation to an installation space of the device.SOLUTION: A platen unit 40 is disposed so as to face a paper feed cassette fitting space 5 of a printer body part 2, and is supported rotatably around a rotary shaft 21c of a paper feed roller 21a disposed on a depth side of the paper feed cassette fitting space 5. When the platen unit 40 is rotated in the paper feed cassette fitting space 5, a gap between a platen 25 mounted on the platen unit 40 and a print head 22 opens widely. The platen unit 40 has a coil spring 45 for energizing the platen 25 toward the print head 22 side via a movable member 44. By energization of the coil spring 45, the movable member 44 is pressed against reception members 46a, 46b of the printer body part 2, for positioning the platen 25 to a print execution position 25A. |
