PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for sensitive yet rapid cancer detection.SOLUTION: A method for screening cancer in a subject comprises the steps of: (a) contacting a chromosome probe set with a biological sample selected from the group consisting of urine, blood, cerebrospinal fluid, pleural fluid, sputum, peritoneal fluid, bladder washings, oral washings, tissue samples, palpation samples and fine-needle aspirates; (b) selecting cells from the biological sample above; (c) determining the presence or absence of aneusomic cells in the selected cells; and (d) correlating the presence of aneusomic cells in the selected cells with cancer in the subject. |
