The invention relates to a method for producing sacks from a fabric, wherein a flat fabric tube (1) is provided, which comprises a sack front wall (18) and a sack rear wall (19), which lie flat on each other, wherein the flat fabric tube (1) is fed to a cutting device, in which the fabric tube (1) is cut to length in order to obtain individual tube-shaped sack bodies (20), whereupon the tube-shaped sack bodies (20) are closed at at least one open end (27) by folding over an end section of the fabric, wherein the fabric tube (1) is cut to length in a longitudinal transport section (3), in which the fabric tube (1) or the tube-shaped sack bodies (20) are transported in the longitudinal direction (2) of the fabric tube (1), and the sack body (20) is preferably closed in a transverse transport step (24), in which the sack bodies (20) are transported in a transport direction (25) running transversely to the longitudinal direction thereof. The sack bodies (20) are closed by folding over a tab (23) formed from the sack rear wall (19) after the tab (23) has been exposed by cutting out a section (22) of the sack front wall (18) in the longitudinal transport section (3). |
