The method for communication between mobile terminals comprises: a first mobile terminal detects a second mobile terminal within a preset range in a wireless manner; the first mobile terminal informs a user of the existence of the second mobile terminal and prompts the user whether to perform data transmission with the second mobile terminal; and after receiving a confirmation instruction of the user, the first mobile terminal establishes a wireless connection to and performs data transmission with the second mobile terminal. The technical solution of the present invention can realize data transmission between mobile terminals when the mobile terminals are close to or in contact with each other.
