PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide fiber base material tape or sheet for composite material made by joining between fiber of multiple reinforced fiber arranged in one direction.SOLUTION: Fiber base material tape or sheet which reinforced fiber and thermoplastic fiber are arranged in one direction are made by laminating multiple reinforced fiber arranged in one direction in tape-like or sheet-like shape and multiple thermoplastic fiber arranged in the same direction in the tape-like or sheet-like shape. In at least the laminating interface in a vertical cross section to a fiber array direction of the fiber base material, distribution of cross section of monofilament of the reinforced fiber and cross section of monofilament of the thermoplastic fiber are mixed. At least some of the cross section of the thermoplastic fiber welds between cross sections of the reinforced fiber.
