PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic light-emitting element which is highly efficient and can be driven at a low voltage.SOLUTION: An organic light-emitting element 1 includes an anode 21, a cathode 26, and a light-emitting layer 23 between the anode 21 and the cathode 26 and also includes, between the anode 21 and the light-emitting layer 23, a first layer 22a containing a first compound and a transition metal oxide and a second layer 22b being in contact with the first layer 22a at the anode 21 side interface and containing a second compound. The first compound has a &pgr;-conjugated structure and contains no metal oxide, the second compound contains no transition metal oxide, and the refractive index of the first compound is smaller than 1.6. |
