<p>Disclosed is a resin composition, which is free from any halogen-based component with a risk of generating dioxins or hydrogen halides and can impart excellent strength, bending resistance, flame resistance and heat yellowing resistance to a processed paper or fiber product. Specifically disclosed is a resin composition obtained by copolymerizing an unsaturated monomer having a phosphate or phosphite group, an alkyl (meth)acrylate monomer and an unsaturated monomer having a carboxyl group, characterized by: having a definite phosphorus content in the solid components; and containing an alkyl (meth)acrylate monomer, wherein the alkyl chain has 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and an unsaturated monomer having a carboxyl group, each in a definite amount. A processed paper or fiber product, which has been treated with the aforesaid resin composition, has excellent strength, bending resistance, flame resistance and heat yellowing resistance.</p> |
