<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a near-field optical head in which a metal film can be easily formed on an opposite plane facing the surface of a magnetic recording medium, and to provide a near-field optical head and an information recording and reproducing device. <P>SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a near-field optical head 2 comprising a slider 20, a recording element 21 having a main pole 33 and an auxiliary pole 31, and a near-field light generating element 26 includes: a near-field light generating element forming step for forming the near-field light generating element 26, which includes a core 23 and a metal film 25, with an intermediate layer 50 exposed directedly toward the surface of a magnetic recording medium and having an opposite plane facing the surface of the magnetic recording medium placed between the metal film 25 and the main pole 33; and a metal film dissolving step for generating near-field light by making a light flux incident from a base end side of the core 23, dissolving the metal film 25 with the near-field light to dissolve the metal film 25 on the opposite plane of the intermediate layer 50, and forming an edge part 25a of the metal film 25 on the opposite plane of the intermediate layer 50. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
