<p>#CMT# #/CMT# Use of extract of Saba senegalensis to soften the skin or mucous membranes, is claimed. #CMT# : #/CMT# Independent claims are included for: (1) a cosmetic or dermatological composition for sensitive skin, comprising the extract of Saba senegalensis and a cosmetically and/or dermatologically acceptable carrier; and (2) a device comprising the composition, where the device is present in a form of a pot, a pump dispenser, a wiper, a mask, a transdermal patch, a patch, a spray, a capsule or a capsule. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# The Saba senegalensis extract is useful for: softening the skin such as normal skin, dehydrated skin and defatted skin, or mucous membranes; unifying the color and/or tone of skin; and stimulating angiogenesis in skin (all claimed). #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The extract effectively inhibits pro-inflammatory mediators involved in the early inflammatory process. #CMT#BIOLOGY : #/CMT# Preferred Components: The extract is an extract of Saba senegalensis leaf, and is present in an amount of 0.0001-5 wt.% in the composition. Preferred Composition: The composition further comprises a cosmetic soothing agent. The composition is present in a form of ointment, cream, oil, milk, powder, solution, gel, serum, balm, butter, lotion, suspension, soap, shampoo or emulsion. #CMT#EXAMPLE : #/CMT# Dried leaves of Saba senegalensis were crushed. The crushed leaves were stirred with water/ethanol mixture at a ratio of 70:30 at 50[deg] C for one hour. The hydroalcoholic extract thus obtained was then filtered and dried to obtain a dried extract in powder form.</p> |
