<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal capable of facilitating function setting, while reducing a content different from what a user desires to set from being set. <P>SOLUTION: A radio section 103 receives a mail including setting information indicating a content set for a function that a portable terminal is provided with. A display section 101 displays determination information for determining whether to permit request setting, that is content setting indicated by the setting information included in the mail, to be applied or not. A key operation section 102 accepts either permission information for permitting the request setting to be applied, or non-permission information for not permitting the request setting to be applied.
