<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data receiver and a data transmitter in which malfunction is suppressed in the subsequent stage. <P>SOLUTION: Data is transferred asynchronously between a physical layer circuit and an MAC layer. The data is processed in units of byte. A detection circuit detects the fact that the interval of first packet and second packet of the data transmitted by a conversion module is shorter than a minimum standard. The second packet follows the first packet. When the fact that the interval is shorter than a minimum standard is detected by the detection circuit, a nullification circuit nullifies the data corresponding to a natural number multiple of 1 byte from the head of the second packet.
