发明名称 PRODUCTION OF STEEL WIRE FOR ARC WELDING HAVING EXCELLENT FEEDABILITY AND SPATTER RESISTANCE
摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a steel wire for arc welding having improved feedability and spatter resistance by descaling a steel wire and drawing roughly the wire then performing an annealing stage in two stages in a weak oxidizing atmosphere and a reducing atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:A steel blank wire rod after hot rolling is passed through a descaler 2 so that surface scale is removed from the wire rod. The wire rod is then passed through a pretreating tank 3 to clean the surface thereof. The cleaned wire rod is fed to a drawing machine 4 by which it is drawn to an intermediate diameter. The wire rod is thereafter passed through a heating furnace 5 kept in a weak oxidizing atmosphere to form oxide scale of 0.5-0.1mu thickness on the surface of a wire 7. The wire is fed to a furnace 6 kept in a reducing atmosphere where the wire is subjected to two stages of annealing including holding for 50-90sec at 800+ or -50 deg.C and heat treating. The wire is then cooled in a water tank 7 and is fed to succeeding stages for plating, finish drawing, coiling, finish annealing, etc. The steel wire for arc welding having excellent feedability and spatter resistance is obtd. by the above-mentioned method.
