PURPOSE:To form a uniform thin org. dye molecular film by compressing the surface area of the fluorescent dye molecules developed on a water surface in such a manner that the aggregated state of said molecules has a prescribed shape, then transferring the monomolecular film onto a prescribed substrate. CONSTITUTION:The dye molecules contg. <=10mol% fluorescent dye molecules are dissolved in a suitable solvent, prescribed chloroform, benzene, etc., and this soln. is dropped by each small art. onto the water surface. The org. solvent is then evaporated to form the extra-thin film of the dye molecules contg. the fluorescent dye molecule on the water surface. After this film is compressed, the congregation state, etc., are observed by a previously provided fluorescence microscope and the film is adjusted to the desired congregation state. Such monomolecular film is accumulated on the substrate to form the Langmuir- Blodgett film. The concn. of the fluorescent dye molecules is required to be adjusted to <=10mol% and more adequately <=2mol% of the dye molecules.
