PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium ion battery which is improved in life by optimizing an aging process condition; and a method for manufacturing the lithium ion battery.SOLUTION: A lithium ion battery comprises: a positive electrode that includes a lithium-containing transition metal complex oxide having manganese as a transition metal; a negative electrode including amorphous carbon; and an electrolytic solution. The lithium ion battery can be obtained by being charged to a volt of 3.6-3.8 V or 4.05-4.2 V and then held under a predetermined temperature environment for 10-600 hours.
