摘要 <p>Disclosed is a method for producing a near-net-shape material for an engine piston, which comprises: a continuous casting step in which a cast rod (31) having a diameter of 85 mm or less is obtained by continuously casting a melt (30) of an aluminum alloy at a melt temperature of 720°C or more; and a forging step in which a near-net-shape material (11) for an engine piston is obtained by forging a material for forging (32) that has been obtained by homogenizing the cast rod (31) at a temperature of 300-500°C. The melt (30) has a composition that contains 11.0-13.0% of Si, 0.6-1.0% of Fe, 3.5-4.5% of Cu, 0.25% or less of Mn, 0.4-0.6% of Mg, 0.15% or less of Cr, from 0.6% to {(-4/6) × [Cu mass%] + 5}% of Ni, 0.07-0.15% of Zr, 0.005-0.010% of P, and 0.002 mass% or less of Ca, with the balance made up of Al and unavoidable impurities.</p>
