<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detection distance setting device capable of preventing deterioration of usability caused by an event that a determination distance becomes an extremely short value, and an automatic faucet apparatus including the same. <P>SOLUTION: An automatic faucet apparatus 1 includes a spout 4, a cover 17, and a detection distance setting device 6. The spout 4 includes a water discharge port 8 and a detection sensor 9 at the tip end 4b thereof. The cover 17 is locked to the water discharge port 8, covers the detection sensor 9, and is attached to the tip end 4b of the spout 4. The detection distance setting device 6 includes the detection sensor 9 for detecting whether or not a detection object approaches the tip end 4b of the spout 4, and a controller. The controller causes an infrared light emitting element to emit light to the bottom face of a basin, compares a value from a position detection element with a set operation start value according to a predetermined set operation start distance, and when determining that the detection object is located outside the set operation start distance, starts the setting of a determination value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
