<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal cylindrical lens array and a display device that operate at a low voltage, have high lens power and excel in optical characteristics even if the spacing between adjoining liquid crystal lenses is made narrower. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid crystal cylindrical lens array comprises: a liquid crystal layer 31 in which liquid crystal molecules are oriented in a single direction, the layer being housed between a first substrate 11 having a transparent first electrode 21 and a second substrate 12 having a plurality of second electrodes having openings and third electrodes arranged in the openings respectively; and a double layer composed of a transparent insulating layer 51 and a transparent high resistance layer 41 and arranged in the openings and between the second electrodes and the third electrodes. A high resistance layer 42 having a resistance higher than that of the transparent high resistance layer 41 is further arranged overlapping an area in which the second electrodes are present. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
