PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image heating device and image forming apparatus that can properly perform rubbing processing even when rubbing performance of a rubbing rotating body has been reduced.SOLUTION: An image heating device includes a first rotating body and a second rotating body that form a nip part for heating toner images on sheets, a rubbing rotating body that rubs the outer surface of the first rotating body, a contact/separation mechanism that brings the rubbing rotating body into contact with/separates it from the first rotating body, and a control unit that controls the temperature of the first rotating body in performing rubbing processing according to the number of times when the rubbing processing is performed by the rubbing rotating body. |
