PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of a difluoromethylene compound.SOLUTION: The production method of a difluoromethylene compound represented by formula (IIIa) id provided in which difluoro acetate represented by formula (Ia) is reacted with an aryl electrophile represented by formula (IIa). In the formulas, R represents CN, NO2, C(O)OC2H5, COCH3 or Cl; m represents an integer of 1 or 2; M represents Li, Na, K, Rb or Cs; Ar represents a phenyl group or a phenylalkyl group, the alkyl portion having 1-5C, which may be optionally substituted by a substituent selected from the group consisting of a -Cl group, a -OCH3 group and a -C(O)OC2H5 group.
