<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a polarizing plate having a processed end face with good processability, by which an end face of a polarizing plate can be processed without causing peeling of a (meth)acrylic resin film as a protective film, decrease in impact resistance of the end face is suppressed, and the (meth)acrylic is prevented from peeling.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a polarizing plate having a processed end face includes steps of: stacking a plurality of rectangular polarizing plates each having a (meth)acrylic resin film to obtain a polarizing plate stacked body having exposed end faces; and cutting the end faces of the stacked body by moving a cutting tool relative to the polarizing plate stacked body. The cutting tool can rotate around a rotation axis orthogonal to the end face and has n groups (where n is an integer of 1 or more) of cutting part groups on an installation plane perpendicular to the rotation axis, in which each cutting part group comprises a plurality of cutting parts having blades. The stacked body is cut in such a manner that contact times of the n cutting part groups with the end face, where one rotation of the cutting tool gives n contact times, is 500 to 1400 times per 100 mm length in a longitudinal direction of the end face.</p> |
