<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a packaging material for storing an object to be packed with reduced bulging or buckling in the body thereof even if the object to be packed is an unchamfered article. <P>SOLUTION: The sheet-like packaging material includes: a bottom surface forming part 1 having a substantially rectangular shape; sidewall forming parts 3 foldably protruding from the bottom surface forming part 1; and top surface forming parts 6 foldably protruding from the sidewall forming parts 3. The sidewall forming parts 3 have disconnected slits 11a provided at the boundary between the side wall forming part and the bottom surface forming part 1, and disconnected slits 13a provided at the boundary between the side wall forming part and the top surface forming part 6.
