Disclosed are a steel material with excellent machinability and a steel material manufacturing method using the same. The present invention relates to the steel material capable of obtaining excellent machinability by preventing the generation of crystal grains having different sizes and to the steel material manufacturing method using the steel material. The steel material according to the present invention comprises 0.2-0.3 wt% of C, 0.25-0.35 wt% of Si, 1.5-1.7 wt% of Mn, 0.03 wt% or less of P, 0.01-0.02 wt% of S, 0.2-0.3 wt% of Cr, 0.015-0.03 wt% of Al, 0.01-0.015 wt% of N, and the remainder consisting of Fe and inevitable impurities. |
