PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To satisfactorily display the level etc. in a view finder.SOLUTION: An inclination sensor detects an inclination of a camera body in a predetermined direction, for example, in a right-left direction or a front-rear direction. An index display signal is generated for displaying an index at a position according to an inclination detected by the inclination sensor. An image signal is synthesized with the index display signal to obtain an image signal for view finder. The index display signal is generated so that the display of the index is masked in a mask area of a predetermined width including a position corresponding to a predetermined inclination in a movement direction of the index as the center. In a normally or ordinary state, the display area of the index in the view finder can be reduced to avoid interference with the image display. |
