1. A method for checking for a plausibility of wrong-way driving of a motor vehicle having a wireless receiving unit on a directional roadway, the method comprising:
receiving at least one signal of a wireless receiving unit of one other motor vehicle; ascertaining a driving direction of the other motor vehicle based on the at least one signal; and checking for the plausibility of wrong-way driving of the motor vehicle or of the other motor vehicle based on the driving direction of the motor vehicle and the driving direction of the other motor vehicle.
