PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery device which enables the increase in the durability of a unit battery. ! SOLUTION: A battery device 1 comprises: unit batteries 2 each including a power-generating element 208 having electrode plates 201 and 203 laminated with separators 202 interposed therebetween, and an electrolyte in which the power-generating element 208 is immersed; and first and second binding bands 411 and 421 operable to press the unit batteries 2 against each other. The unit batteries 2 are provided so that principal planes of the electrode plates 201 and 203 are substantially in parallel with a vertical direction.
