PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope apparatus, a control method of the endoscope apparatus, and a program, capable of stopping an unnecessary focusing operation during a user operation to prevent blur of an image caused from an unexpected change in a focusing point and a malfunction of an AF (Automatic Focus) control.SOLUTION: An endoscope apparatus includes: a focus controller 347 to perform a focus control to control a position of a focus lens 220 included in an optical system for forming an image to be captured by an imaging part 200, to a focusing position, on the basis of a focusing evaluation value calculated from a first area in the image; and a scene change detector 346 to detect presence/absence of a scene change in a second area including an area different from the first area. The focus controller 347 turns to a stand-by state if the focus lens 220 is controlled in the focusing position, and then if any scene change is detected during the stand-by state, restarts the focus control. |
