PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hermetic seal package member capable of presenting sufficient effects while reducing a load in hermetic sealing, the hermetic seal package member utilizing a metal powder sintered compact as a sealant.SOLUTION: In the hermetic seal package member including a substrate and at least one frame-shaped sealant defining a sealing area formed on the substrate, the sealant is formed from a sintered compact obtained by sintering metal powder of at least one or more selected from among gold, silver, palladium and platinum of which the purity is 99.9 wt% or more and the average grain size is 0.005 μm to 1.0 μm. Further, regarding any arbitrary cross section from the sealing area to the outside of the area, an upper end length of the sealant is shorter than a lower end length. A cross-sectional shape of the sealant is formed from a base portion having a fixed height and at least one crest portion protruding from the base portion or a substantially triangular crest portion with the lower end length of the sealant as the base. |
