According to an embodiment of the present invention, a method for providing a window in an electronic apparatus having an external input device includes the steps of: executing a window generation mode of waiting the reception of a signal for generating a window from the external input device, and displaying the window generation mode when a first function key, predetermined for calling the window, from the external input device; generating and displaying a window which can include a menu, an icon, or a file when a first input signal for requesting the generation of a window is received from the external input device; and eliminating the display of the window generation mode.
