摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for coating a phosphor at a low cost, which comprises coating the surface of the phosphor with SiO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>in a reducing atmosphere. <P>SOLUTION: The method for coating a phosphor includes: mounting a previously synthesized powder of a phosphor in a reducing atmosphere; supplying SiO<SB POS="POST">x</SB>(0.8≤x≤1.2) in a gas phase state toward the phosphor powder; and coating the outer peripheral surface of the phosphor powder with the SiO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>. Alternatively, coating can be carried out by using another coating method which includes: mixing a previously synthesized phosphor powder and SiO<SB POS="POST">x</SB>(0.8≤x≤1.2) in a solid powdery state; heating the resulting mixture while circulating a gas; and coating the outer peripheral surface of the phosphor power with the SiO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p>
