<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus which can generate a high-quality ultrasonic image even if a preamplifier to amplify a reception signal has a nonlinearity. <P>SOLUTION: The reception signal output from an ultrasonic transducer 3 passes through an input protection circuit 41 of a reception signal processing part, is amplified by the preamplifier 42 and a variable gain amplifier 43, a high-frequency component is removed from the reception signal by a low-pass filter 44, and A/D conversion of the reception signal is performed by an A/D converter 45.
