摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress an increase in a connector space involved in current supply while both a host device and a peripheral device use a single cable, and to receive electric current, surpassing a standard upper limit to which the peripheral device conforms. <P>SOLUTION: An interface discriminating part 7 detects the voltage of a four number pin which is neither used for data transmission and reception nor used for current reception among a plurality of pins included in a USB connector 6 connected to a PC 1 through a signal USB cable 3. A CPU 14 sets the upper limit of current to be fed to a load 10 if the detected voltage is at a high level to 500 mA, and sets the upper limit of current to be fed to the load 10 if the voltage is at a low level to 900 mA.
