<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording apparatus which permits even an atypical recording medium to be well transferred and marginless recording to be carried out without staining the reverse. <P>SOLUTION: The printing apparatus 100 has a transfer section 11 for transferring a recording medium P in an atypical shape, a recording head 10 for ejecting a liquid to the recording medium P transferred to a recording area A by the transfer section 11 for recording. The transfer section 11 has a holding member 21 for holding the recording medium P and absorbing a liquid getting out of the edge of the recording medium P when the liquid is ejected from the recording head 10, and a pair of rotating roller portions 22 and 23 arranged in the upstream side and the downstream side of the transfer direction of the recording medium P and having the holding member 21 wrapped around them.
