<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus configured to prevent print start from being delayed after power-on or recovery from sleep mode.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus (1) transfers a toner image formed on an image carrier, by means of electrophotographic process technology, onto a sheet (S), and heats and fixes the toner image transferred on the sheet (S). The image forming apparatus (1) includes: a CPU 101a for controlling devices of the image forming apparatus (1); and a sheet casette (18) configured to store multiple-size recording media. The image forming apparatus (1) includes a plurality of fixing heaters (111a, 111b, 111c, 11d) each having a heating section which is formed in different positions and generates heat with power supplied. The CPU 101a of the image forming apparatus (1) controls whether to supply or cut off power to the fixing heaters (111a, 111b, 111c, 11d) individually, according to the size of the sheet (S) stored in the sheet casette (18). A current detection circuit 33 detects a current value of a fixing heater which is supplied with power.</p> |
