<p>Provided is a liquid crystal composition which comprises a liquid crystal compound and a specific chiral agent and which exhibits excellent characteristics. Specifically provided is a liquid crystal composition which uses a dehydroabietic acid as the chiral agent and which exhibits high quality and excellent characteristics, said dehydroabietic acid being a chiral agent that has excellent environmental feasibility due to the natural plant origin and keeps an advantage of manufacturability due to excellent compatibility with liquid crystal materials and that exhibits a large helical twisting power (HTP) superior to that of a conventional chiral agent. A liquid crystal composition which comprises both a chiral agent consisting of a specific dehydroabietic acid derivative and a liquid crystal compound.</p> |
