The device located on one side of the loom constitutes a double feed system, allowing automatic switching from one system to the other in the event of a fault of the weft thread on one of the feed systems. This device comprises a first fixed nozzle (5) and a second fixed nozzle (14), each of these two nozzles being capable of directing a weft thread (1,11) towards a picking nozzle (6) moveable together with the comb of the machine. A moveable insertion means (20) retains the end of the weft thread (11) on stand-by and displaces this thread end towards the picking nozzle (6) in the event of a fault in the feed of the weft thread used (1). <IMAGE>
