Photographic base has an adhesive coat applied to a metal surface, which has mirror reflection or sec. diffusion reflection properties. The adhesive consists of a copolymer (I) contg., as first constituent, vinyl chloride (VC) and/or vinylidene chloride (VDC); and an epoxy cpd. (II). Pref. the second constituent is vinyl acetate (VAc), maleic anhydride (MAn), maleic acid (MA), styrene, acrylonitrile (AN), methyl acrylate, diethyl fumarate, 2-chloroallyl acetate, diethyl maleate, isobutyl vinyl ether, aryl acetate, isobutylene or isopropenyl acetate. In particular, (I) is a copolymere of VC and VDC; VC, VDC and MAn; VC, VDC and VAc; VC, VDC, MA and VAc; VC and VAc; or VC and AN. USE/ADVANTAGE - The adhesive is claimed for use on Al, Te, Mo, Po, Co, Zn, Cu, Ni, Fe, Sn, V, Ge, Ag, Ag emulsion, Cr, Ti or their alloys. It gives good long-term stability and resistance to heat and weathering, prevents delamination of the light-sensitive Ag halide (AgX) coat and does not cause fogging or staining. The colour reproduction or gradation is good, hence sharp images are obtd.
