According to an embodiment of the present invention, a solid electrolytic capacitor includes an anode body which is made of porous pellet of tantalum powder with an average diameter of 100nm or less; an anode wire of which a part in a lengthwise direction fills the porous pellet; a dielectric layer formed on the surface of the porous pellet; and a solid electrolytic layer arranged on the surface of the dielectric layer. The area of the thickness-width direction cross section of the anode wire is A1. The area of the thickness-width direction cross section of the anode body is A2. Then, 0.05<=A1/A2<=0.5 is satisfied.
