According to embodiments of the present invention, the present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for transceiving data using visible light communication. The apparatus for transceiving data using visible light communication according to an embodiment of the present invention may include: a light emitting unit which includes at least one light emitting diode (LED) emitting different wavelengths of visible light; an output level adjusting unit which adjusts the output level of digital data to be outputted through the light emitting unit based on the distance to another data transmitting apparatus; and a control unit which determines an output wavelength of the digital data and controls the light emitting unit in order for the digital data with the adjusted output level to be outputted at the determined output wavelength. According to the embodiments of the present invention, by determining the output level of the visible light in consideration of the distance between the LEDs when transmitting data using multiple LEDs, interference between the LEDs can be prevented.
