<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly achieve accuracy in read response and decoding, according to reading distance of a symbol.SOLUTION: A scanner device 10 determines whether reading distance from a scanner part 18 to a symbol is short. If the reading distance is determined to be short, the device performs at least either setting for increasing tolerance to an error of image data with respect to a threshold value for determining element width of a symbol, or setting for reducing the matching number of times of decoding result. If the reading distance is determined to be long, the device performs at least either setting for reducing the tolerance to the error of the image data with respect to the threshold value, or setting for increasing the matching number of times. Then, the device decodes the image data according to the setting.</p> |
