PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric discharge machine which achieves downsizing and simplification of a cooling structure for cooling a substrate and enables improvement of the cooling efficiency while reducing labor-hours required for maintenance. ! SOLUTION: An electric discharge machine 1 includes a substrate 30 on which components 40 of a discharge circuit are mounted and applies voltage to an interelectrode space 9 formed between a work piece W and a tool electrode E to cause electric discharge and perform discharge machining. The electric discharge machine 1 includes a cooling structure 50 which cools the substrate 30. The cooling structure 50 includes: a cooling plate 60; and a cover 70. The cooling plate 60 has a flat-plate like shape. One surface of the cooling plate 60 serves as a contact surface 61 which contacts with the substrate 30 and the other surface serves as a cooling surface 62 on which a coolant circulates and cools the substrate 30.
