PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor light emitting device having high heat dissipation efficiency.SOLUTION: A semiconductor light emitting device comprises: a semiconductor light emitting element 3; and a substrate 1 on which the semiconductor light emitting element 3 is mounted; and a heat dissipation lens 2 mounted on the substrate 1 on a surface on the side where the semiconductor light emitting element 3 is mounted, so as to cover the semiconductor light emitting element 3, in which the heat dissipation lens 2 is transparent against radiation light 30 radiated by the semiconductor light emitting element 3 depending on an energy gap of the semiconductor light emitting element 3 and infrared light 31 heat radiated by the semiconductor light emitting element 3. Refraction indexes of the heat dissipation lens 2 for the radiation light 30 and the infrared light 31 are larger than refraction indexes of the semiconductor light emitting element 3 for the radiation light 30 and the infrared light 31, respectively. |
