PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil strainer capable of preventing a filter provided in a flow path into which sucked oil flows, from being clogged with ice.SOLUTION: In an oil strainer 1 connected to an oil pump 2 of an internal combustion engine, a flow path 4 is formed into which oil sucked from the interior of an oil pan 3 into the oil strainer 1 flows. In an upstream area of a filter 7 provided in the flow path 4, a bent part 5 is formed by curving the area. In the oil strainer 1, a trap net 6 for trapping foreign matters from the oil so that the foreign matters does not flow downstream is provided in such a way that a bent outside portion and a bent inside portion of the bent part 5 are apart from each other. When the oil includes ice, the ice in the oil passing through the bent part 5 centers in the bent outside portion by centrifugal force, while the oil not including the ice flows downstream from the bent inside portion. The ice centered in the bent outside portion is retained in the trap net 6 not to flow downstream. |
