PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively culture abalones by enabling algae which are waste to be utilized as a material of feed for abalone culture.SOLUTION: A method for producing feed for abalone culture comprises: solubilizing alginic acid compound in algae including brown algae, before, during, or after crushing the algae, by using sodium carbonate, sodium hydrogen carbonate, or sodium hydroxide; crushing the waste algae to obtain algae paste; molding the algae paste to obtain a thin, long sheet-like or string-like molding; immersing the molding in calcium chloride aqueous solution and solidifying the alginic acid contained therein; and feeding the obtained product to cultured abalones as feed for abalone culture.
