PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus in which appropriate correction of a defective pixel is achieved even if a subject including a defective pixel does not have a specific angle, and to provide a control method therefor.SOLUTION: A pixel row is generated from a plurality of pixels existing on a target line set so as to pass a pixel corresponding to a defective pixel in an image (S303). Furthermore, a pixel row is generated from a plurality of pixels existing on a reference line parallel with the target line (S304). The value of a pixel corresponding to a defective pixel is corrected by using the value of a pixel on the reference line, determined based on the correlation amount of these pixel rows (S307). |
