<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading apparatus capable of performing inclination correction adaptive to the attitude of a document, and a copy machine.SOLUTION: The image reading apparatus includes: an inclination correction section which is disposed at an upstream side, in a document feeding direction, of a reading position to read a document, to which a front end of the fed document is abutted and which corrects inclination of the document; a correction switching control section for switching whether the inclination correction section is to act; and a document attitude detection section which is disposed at an upstream side of the inclination correction section in the document feeding direction and detects the attitude of the fed document. In the case where it is detected that the attitude of the document fed from a platen is inclined at equal to or more than a threshold value, operation is switched to a first correction mode in which the inclination correction section acts. In the case where it is detected that the fed document is inclined ar less than the threshold value, operation is switched to a second correction mode in which the inclination correction section does not act.</p> |
