摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively reinforce the wall part of a hollow frame made of metal, which is located on the tensile side when load is applied from outside a vehicle body, by means of a reinforcement made of CFRP.SOLUTION: A reinforcement 19 made of CFRP joined in a wall part 18b in the direction of the vehicle width of a B pillar 13 made of metal, which is located on the tensile side when the collision load resulting from a side collision is input contains a continuous carbon fiber layer 22 with a thickness of 0.8 mm or more oriented along the longitudinal direction of the B pillar 13. Accordingly, resistant load equal to high tensile steel with a thickness of 1.8 mm and a tensile strength of 980 MPa can be obtained by the reinforcement 19 made of CFRP that is thin and lightweight. Moreover, since it is enough to attach the reinforcement 19 to only a place where tensile load concentrates, the amount of expensive carbon fiber to be used is decreased to minimize increases in cost and weight.</p>
