One embodiment of the present invention relates to a backlight unit capable of easily changing or extending a view angle for a liquid crystal display device. Provided is the backlight unit which includes a light source, a light guide plate which is formed on the lower side of a liquid crystal panel and includes a light emission surface which emits the light from the light source to the liquid crystal panel, a prism sheet which is formed between the light guide plate and the liquid crystal panel, and a plurality of protrusion patterns which are formed on one side which is opposite to the light emission surface of the light guide plate and include a first prism which is extended in a first direction and at least one second prism which is extended in a second direction across the first direction, is in contact with the first prism, and is shorter than the first prism. |
