According to an embodiment, an ADC circuit performs AC conversion on a signal read from a valid pixel, based on the comparison result with a reference voltage overlapping a clamp voltage. An AD clamp circuit calculates a clamp voltage for a target value of a black color level read from a light shielding pixel, based on the variation of the back color level for the clamp voltage, and a relation between the clamp voltage and the AD conversion value of the black color level read from the light shielding pixel when a clamp voltage is applied. |
