Continuously operating massage drum and method for massaging meat. of the disclosure. A continuously operating massage drum suitable for mechanically massaging salted or unsalted meat products is disclosed. Said drum is provided with drive means for rotating the drum, and end plates with a feed and discharge aperture respectively. The internal surface of the drum is provided with projecting massage elements consisting of an inside wall which is continuously ribbed in the peripheral direction. Preferably the inside wall of the drum has an essentially star-shaped cross-section. The drum is further provided with residence time spread reducing means, advantageously consisting of an internal thread, preferably of 0,1 to 0,8 m, and preferably adapted to the internal shape of the drum. |
